The CCCB is a celebration of art in Barcelona and is a favourite of locals. It has a wonderful selection of temporary art exhibits on urban design, 20th century arts, architecture and the city itself. It also hosts film screenings, conferences, festivals, music and dance performances. The exterior of the building is an unusual blend of contemporary and classical. A massive, black glass wing, designed by Piñon and Viaplana, has been built on to the side of the original 20th century theatre.
