This 14th century monastery provides a wonderfully relaxing retreat. It's the oldest monastery in Barcelona and offers an alternative to the multitude of Modernist buildings. The idyllic setting allows the nuns to detach themselves from modern-day society. You will be instantly enamoured by the delightful courtyard cloister. The square garden area, full of cypress trees, is encircled by a two-floor gallery area with delicate archways; and little prayer rooms line the galleries. The only noises you can hear are the birds singing and the trickling sound of the water feature in the middle of the courtyard.
