The Caixa Forum, designed by Josep I Cadafalch, has a mosaic of different shaded red bricks and a high turret, which are synonymous with industrial architecture. The white interior of the museum exhibits all types of contemporary art, from photography to sculptures, to installations. Caixa Forum holds one permanent exhibition, which includes work from Tapiés, Susan Solano and the controversial conceptual artist, Joseph Beuys (Room of Pain). The temporary rooms always hold provocative art; Picasso, Renoir and Matisse work have been exhibited in this section.
