Sardana
is the Catalan national dance and is a joyful spectacle. The Catalan
people link arms in the air and form a circle, which increases in
size as more people join the fun. They then carry out a synchronised
jig perfectly in time to the reed and brass band. Sardanas are danced
at all National festivals, but the best place to see the action
in infront of the cathedral (Sat, 12:00-14:00. Sun, 18:30-20:30).
We advise you don't join in unless your are certain of your Sardana
prowess, locals take the dance fairly seriously.
