The Ajuntament is home to the local city council, which runs Barcelona. It's less impressive than El Palau de la Generalitat, but one of the rooms, Saló de les Croniques, contains numerous murals by Josep Maria Sert, who subsequently displayed his work in the New York Rockefeller Centre in New York.
