The house, built by Lluís Domènech I Montaner, has an extraordinary sculpture, "Cloud and Air", designed by Antoni Tàpies himself, that swirls above the building. This bizarre sculpture sets the mould for the wide range of modern art that is scattered throughout the inside of the building. Antoni Tapies, one of the few world-renowned Catalan artists still alive, is setting new standards for modern Catalan art and is constantly searching for new projects to push forward contemporary art. Apart from displaying his own thought-provoking art, he exhibits work from local artists.
